Dan, Dave and Ian are dragging themselves through the Leeds half marathon on the 9th of May for Zoe's Place. We'd really appreciate if you could show your support and donate towards Zoe's Place, a baby hospice which relies on fundraising for the majority of the £800,000 a year it takes to run. More info www.zoesplace.org
We will use this website as to keep you up to date on progress on all three but needless to say it'll be a big effort for all involved:
- Dan Ayscough: on paper it should be easy for Dan given the amount of miles he clocked up whilst in the army, however unfortunately for Dan most of them were behind the wheel with a meat pie in hand. The most inform of the three going into the event with a good level of fitness but an old knee injury has kept him from clocking up the big miles in the last few months.
- Dave Richardson: ex-North East of England / Durham hockey player again on paper shouldn't struggle with such a distance but given that he spent most the time at NE on the bench and that his last regular exercise was over ten years ago it may not be so easy! The youngest of the trio has so far managed to stay injury free by not running much more than 3 miles, when he did he was shown up by his Mum!
- Ian Simpson: the veteran of the event having 7 under his (significant) belt and has previously clocked up a lightning time of 90 minutes, however 3 years, 2 and a half stone later can Ian fit the required training around his significant commute and sleepless nights?
We’ve set up a just giving page so that they can claim back tax back as gift aid to increase your donation to Zoe’s Place.
So please dig deep and donate.
