Where we are so far!

This is an update of where we are. We managed to finish the ride on time and within our target, some very long days in the saddle to acheive this aim but it was all worth it, not to many injuries just a few numb toes and fingers and some sore muscles. A big thank you to Luke who was a massive help and we wouldn't have done it without him, thanks to the other boys who rode we had a good laugh at some tough times. A big thankyou to everyone who has helped to achieve this task and to all of you who have donated it is appreciated by all of us and The Red Sock Campaign.

From the 25th June through to the 2nd July, three friends and I, Michael Maunder, Craig Stockdale and Stuart Cowan are taking on the task of riding bicycles from Lands End to John o’Groats.

My father has been diagnosed with prostate cancer and until recently I was unaware that it is the biggest male cancer killer in the .  As a consequence of this we have decided to try to raise money and awareness of this particular cancer and charity by cycling for the redsock campaign. Please see their website at www.theredsock.co.uk

We are currently approaching many companies for sponsorship and also items for auction, so if you can help in anyway please feel free to contact me on davmccal@aol.com

22/11/2009 - Met with Keith Cass, founder of the redsock campaign to exchange ideas and to establish links

05/01/2010 - Confirmed today Luke Mahony will be our support manager/technician/nutritionist.  Luke has been a long and close friend of mine for a long long time and we are gratefull for his support in this campaign.  Luke will be following us for the duration of the ride in the comfort of a van (kindly donated by Asa Harries) he will carry our spares, food, water, and be our masseuse at the end of our long days in the saddle!

20/03/2010 - Spent the day in The Capitol Center with Keith and some of the Red Sock comitee and helpers. Stuart, Craig, Mike and myself rode on turbo trainers to help raise funds for our total. A big thankyou to anyone who donated we raised a total of £544 for the day.

01/05/2010 - £124 was collected from St Mellons Golf Club a big thanks to all those who sponsored me.
