Well we did it! I will be uploading new photos and informing you of our place very soon. But for now its time for a long soak in a very warm bath!! Thank you all for you support, chants of ''think of the money'' kept us going around that course :D

Woaw, seriously woaw! We have passed the £2000 mark and we are totally in awe. This year has turned into the most epic, for the sponsorship, the messages and the friendships forged within this team. We are itching to get out there and do you proud. So THANK YOU!!
X
No flies on my ladies! Welcom to Tasha Cook as a replacement. We are now smashing our way to the £2000 mark before the Challenge on Saturday, fingers crossed we'll make it!!
x
One more bites the dust... Rebecca has had to bow out, but extremely graciously, due to illness. Watch this space to see if we can find someone crazy enough to join us - in less than 4 days!!
x
After having to lose our team member Jade, boo :( we have a special arrival. One of our orginal members is back in! Got you in the end Tina Llewellyn...
x
Sad news, we have had to say goodbye to Alex from our team due to medical reasons (or she came to her senses!!) but the wonderful person that she is means she will still be there cheering us on. She has been replaced by Clare Moody, and we truly can't wait to meet her! Welcome aboard sweetie!!
x
Well, it's safe to say we are a very happy team! You wonderful people have helped us to make our target. This is truly amazing! With 3 weeks still left to go we are making our final push to see what 20 determined women can achieve. Also we would like to welcome a new member, Monnie Fard is stepping in as a replacement. We are now organising our tshirts for the day, you will be able to spot a Bootneckette a mile off! Cannot wait to show you all the photos and get out there to make our sponsors proud.
Thank you!

Introducing another replacement, one of the orginals from our tiny little team last year, Nat Clayton! Can't wait to get back out there on that course with you again !!
x
Another welcome! Nat Creese's little sister Gemma Stephens will be braving the mud and gore, well dirty hair at least. So once again we've upped the target and need you help more than ever. Please text BOOT99 to 70070 :)
x
Our team is growing and Lauren Bielby has taken our numbers up to 18! Therefore our target has been upped to, so please continue to donate and help us get there as well as giving a fantastic helping hand to our wonderful charities.
x
JustTextGiving has gone live! To donate, this ridiculously easy way, simply text BOOT99 £1 (or whatever amount you wish to donate) to 70070. Already sponsors are coming in this way, and as it shows up anonymously we'd like to say to you a humongous THANK YOU!!

So once again we have lost a member but it's to another pregnancy! Including last year, that's a total of 5, officially the most fertile team ever. Huge congratulations to Emma Young and welcome to Jade Smith in her place x
Just so you know where all your lovely money is going, the friendly chaps at DAAT http://www.daat.org/ sent me a little breakdown.
The charity has to raise £4.5 million per year to keep the two helicopters (or hellicoppers if your under 5) flying.
The helicopters do carry many children (last year 10% of missions were for under 16s) and each child who is airlifted receives and Ambrose Bear which helps to act as a comforter. The cost of a bear is £5.00 each.
The main cost is for fuel (sounds familiar!) and every penny helps to keep the helicopters flying.
So there you go! x
The latest news is we have gained so many fabulous new members that we've had to up the fundraising target to achieve our minimum £60 each. So please help us get there! x
Update: we have unfortunately lost a member but it's happy news - the first pregnancy of the team! So best wishes to Lynsey Burton-Chambers and a welcome to her replacement Nadine Busby :)

As fundraising has taken off better than we could have possibly hoped it might be best to square you all away on the details!
Basically we are a bunch of people who quite fancied crawling around in the Devonshire mud for a couple of hours after being inspired by military partners, friends, family or a bit of old school Rambo. So we are taking part in the 4K Commando Challenge on the 8th October (http://www.commandochallenge.co.uk/)
This involves completing the Woodbury Common endurance course used by the Royal Marines in training. It's a cross country run with submerged concrete tunnels, a freezing cold ''lake'', hills, woods and of course the much maligned Sheep Dip - take a look at the photos!
All of this is to raise money for the local Devon Air Ambulance (http://www.daat.org/) and for a charity close to hearts of a few of us, The C Group (http://www.thecgroup.org/) whose aim is to support the on-going rehabilitation and re-integration of injured Royal Marines and provide facilities and opportunities to support the welfare and personal development of serving and former Royal Marines. Neither receives government funding so truly deserved causes.
So dig deep, your donation will gain us points on the day and make a huge difference to the people on the receiving end. The photos from the day of us will be well worth it! Oh and don't forget to Gift Aid it :)
The Bootneckettes x
Well we are back again! This year the team has grown and is even more fabulous. The Bootneckettes will be in training for the next 7 months (well sort of!) in preparation for the 4k Commando Challenge on the 8th October.
We've set our sights a little higher this year in terms of fundraising but with your support I'm confident we'll make it. Once again this is for The Devon Air Ambulance (http://www.daat.org/) and The C Group (http://www.thecgroup.org/) - more info to follow :)
So keep an eye out and we'll update you on how we're getting on and praising you for all the lovely sponsorships that will come rolling in!
Love The Bootneckettes x
