Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. In September, we entered the Landy Rally: www.landyrally.com/ This event is a nine day drive through 11 European countries, and includes a bit of competition like tasks to do each day for points, plus doing a bit of off-roading. And sleeping in a tent for nine nights, something we haven’t done for nearly 30 years! We surprised ourselves by winning 2nd prize, which means £500 for Felsted Aid for Deprived Children www.felstedaid.org/ who take humanitarian aid to a children’s rehabilitation centre in Chernigov. This area is still affected by the Chernobyl disaster, over 20 years later.
A donation to them of £5 is enough for one day’s treatment at the Centre for one child, including medical, medication, transport to and from centre and meals. They also need money to support the costs of transporting the humanitarian aid to the centre, for keeping vehicles on the road, and they also support some families in Essex. To see photos and the latest news on our trip, look at our travel blog at http://travelpod.com/members/dirtyweekenders
We weren't able to keep this up to date during the Rally, but doing that now. So please make a donation now, we drove nearly 3000 miles - 20p for every 100 miles = £6.00, sleeping for 9 nights in a tent - £1.00 per night = £9.00, travelling through 11 countries - £1.00 per country =£11.00. Or you can give any amount you please. Each donation makes it worthwhile.
