Important -- the donate buttons on this page give money to the British Heart Foundation -- if you want to donate to the Pete Fenelon Memorial then please read on.
In 2008 my friend Pete Fenelon died suddenly of a heart attack at the age of forty. He left a huge impression on so many of us and I know there are a lot of people who really miss him. As I said at the time, "Pete was a big character with a big laugh and a big heart. The world is smaller and more ordinary without him." Ken Tindell, a long time friend of Pete set up the
Pete Fenelon Memorial which is an annual award to a student at York University who shows the passion for Computer Science that Pete did. Those who knew Pete, I hope, will want to
give a donation to this award.
If you did not know Pete, or if you feel motivated to give to both causes, I am running the Royal Parks half Marathon on the 11th October 2009 in aid of the British Heart Foundation. It's a great cause, they fund research aimed at preventing heart attacks, diagnosing them and treating them. It's a charity I really believe in, it genuinely saves lives and improves the world in a concrete way. The button at the bottom of the page will donate money to them. I hope you feel you can be generous.
Richard.
