Story
Thanks for visiting my fund raising page.
From the 19th - 28th of September I will be trekking up Mount Kilimanjaro…
Standing at 5,896m, Kilimanjaro is one of the largest volcanoes to ever break through the earth's crust and is the world's highest free standing, snow-covered equatorial mountain. It is the largest mountain that non-technical climbers can tackle; the altitude and low temperature (dropping to -22 degrees overnight) make this a difficult and dangerous trek. The breathable oxygen at the top is less than half the amount than is common at sea level. We will cover at least eighty kilometres over the seven days it will take to reach the top and return.
I will be climbing to raise funds for ACE Africa, a brilliant charity run by a small but committed team who work tirelessly to provide help and resources to where it's really needed. They are dedicated to reducing the impact of HIV/AIDS on the lives of the millions of orphans and vulnerable children living in rural communities of East Africa. Check out www.ace-africa.org to learn more about what they are doing. What you donate will make a difference.
All of the funds that I raise will be going to the charity. In other words, none of it will be going towards getting me there and back. So, that means you can dig deep knowing that everything will go to ACE.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: ACE gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
Thanks for your support!
