Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I’m currently raising money for The RAF Benevolent Fund, for this I’m doing a sponsored walk in the mountains of Peru towards the end of April, now it’s important you know that 100% of what you donate will go toward the charity and not me, I’ve paid £2500 for the flights, equipment and clothing myself so I’ve already invested quite a bit, now I’m just after your generosity to help forces members and family’s across the world. Here’s some information on the charity
The RAF Benevolent Fund’s main goals
The first is to maintain and preserve the RAF Memorial in London on behalf of the nation.
The second is to provide assistance to the RAF family, when they are in need.
The third is to support the morale and wellbeing of the serving RAF.
They are also responsible for the new Bomber Command Memorial in central London.
What they do
They provide a spectrum of care, supporting everyone from children growing up on RAF stations, to those serving today to keep our skies safe, to the veterans who fought for our freedom.
It could be supporting a Second World War pilot in later life, supporting the widow and children of an RAF reservist killed in action, or providing practical help to a young RAF Regiment gunner injured in Afghanistan.
They also run a range of innovative projects and services including:
Airplay – a project supporting children and young people growing up on RAF stations
Relationship counselling for RAF couples
Respite breaks – welcome breaks from the frontline
Princess Marina House - a relaxing, seaside home-from-home for the RAF family
And much more. They spend over £22 million each year supporting over 68,000 people, and they rely on public funding for all of this, no government funding.
Im hoping to raise £500 for this charity and your help is much appretiated.
The Trek itself is a 10 day trip from london to Peru and back again...
while the beautiful scenery is a great expeirance, the walk upto the 4200m summit will most likely be a tough one, so wether you appretiate the difficulty of the task or just find my suffering amusing, please donate to this great charity.
Thanks
