So, I've slightly lost my marbles and out of sheer bravado have entered the 2009 Barcelona Triathlon, taking place on 18th October.
I will be raising money for Genesis UK, a breast cancer prevention charity. I'm doing this on behalf of my mum, who has been affected by breast cancer recently. She strongly believes that Genesis do amazing work, from which she and thousands of others have benefitted directly, so I hope you'll help me in supporting them.

The Genesis Appeal is the UK's only charity dedicated to breast cancer prevention, and creating a future without breast cancer. In 2007 the appeal completed Europe's first purpose built breast cancer prevention centre, headed by Professor Tony Howell, the UK’s first Professor of Cancer Prevention, and supported by a team of internationally recognised experts.
Genesis are commited to providing a strategic programme of clinical research in such areas as dietary prevention, genetic predisposition, and cancer prevention drugs (thus preventing the need for chemotherapy as a cure).
On top of the research, the centre serves as the UK's largest family history clinic, plus a training centre for breast cancer specialists. It also provides screening, risk assesment and methods of early detection.
