JUMPING FOR JOY: BUNGEE JUMP FOR CHARITY
Thanks for taking the time to visit the donation page!
As you may or may not know, I am going to be doing a sponsored bungee jump for the non-profit organisation Wordwide Volunteering. They're an organisation that goes across to hundreds of schools actively promoting young people, ex-offenders and those with disabilities to volunteer for whatever cause they believe in. They don't just raise awareness and hold presentations, they work to get people into volunteering positions whether it's a one off project or a long term commitment and enourage them to stick to it. Every year they have 1.5 million places in over 1700 organisations, and as a volunteer myself (for Oxfam) I can really understand why it's a damn good idea. Charities are extremely reliant on volunteers and their effort and from personal experience, even 2-3 people working for a few hours on a slow day can raise up to £150, so getting so many people involved in volunteering makes a huge difference for their cause. Giving people the chance to change the world in the way they want is a powerful thing and allowing one person to help so many others. It's a truly great cause and I support their efforts to getting people to help others and themselves.
So, in order to raise money for this cause, I am going to be jumping to my inevitable doo- I mean safety thanks to the elastic around my waist, from somewhere way up high at the O2 Arena on July 17th. It's going to be scary, it will be tense and I might cry like a little girl but one way or another I am going to be jumping, for a great cause and a great experience. Whether it's 50p or £5 every donation makes a difference and I will be posting a video of the jump here, so you can all witness the madness and spectacle that's going to be raising money. So dig deep, give a little or a lot and contribute towards a great cause and thank you all very much for taking the time to read.
