I am participating in a Charity Challenge, trekking along the Great Wall of China in mid-September 2011.
The Great Wall of China was originally constructed to keep out nomadic tribes who raided China's northern frontier. Each day we will trek along the stony, steep and sometimes slippery path, twisting and winding its way along the mountains.
Not is it only a huge personal challenge, but it is a wonderful opportunity to raise money for a worthy cause.
I am raising money for the Charity 'Plan International'. 'Plan' is one of the oldest and largest children's development organisations in the world, working in 50 countries across Africa, Asia and South America.
'Plan' helps promote child rights and lifts children out of poverty; from tackling preventable diseases and widening immunisation cover in Mozambique to helping thousands of street children transform their lives by providing basic education, healthcare and counselling in Bangladesh, as well as supporting the child victims of natural disasters and emergencies such as the East African drought.
I would be immensely grateful for any support that you can give. Since I have totally self-funded my trek, all your kind donations will benefit 'Plan' directly.
