I'm going to try and climb Aconcagua (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aconcagua) in early 2012 and want to raise some money for The Stroke Association at the same time.

At 6962 metres (22,841 feet) Aconcagua is more than a kilometre higher than Kilimanjaro and almost a mile higher than Everest base camp. It is the highest mountain in the world outside of the Himalayas.

This is a trip I have paid for entirely myself, it's not a case of raise a certain amount of money and you get a free holiday. Everything you donate goes to The Stroke Association - it doesn't subsidise my trip.

A stroke happens when the blood supply to part of the brain is cut off and brain cells are damaged or die. Every year, around 150,000 people in the UK have a stroke. That’s one person every five minutes. Stroke is the third most common cause of death in the UK.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.
