My story

It's that time of the year again and I have yet again agreed to run the London Marathon for RAFT(http://www.raft.ac.uk/), which will be the 15th time I've run for them. I realise this may seem a bit late to start fundraising, this is due to the fact that I was unsure whether I'd be running this year due to knee problems, however I ran the Forest of Dean Half Marathon on 27/3 and didn't feel too bad (I finished in 1:57), so have decided to go ahead with London.

Please take a couple of minutes to have a look at their website to see the type of work they do, especially some of the recent work on wound healing and 'Smart Matrix'.  When we first ran the marathon for them in 1993 it was because they could get us a place, we then saw their work and thought that if you're going to put your body through that sort of pain it should be for a good cause... and this one is!!!

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: RAFT will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

When you sponsor me, please put your estimate for my finishing time in the comment box (to the minute and  second to avoid having a draw at the end).  I'll be giving a bottle of Champagne to the person who gets closest.  To give you an idea, last year I managed 4h 21m, but had a problem with my knee from 11 miles, so would expect to do a similar time or maybe a little quicker, will just have to see what happens on the day.

So please sponsor me now!

Thanks

Rob/ Alun

I had indicated that I would be running with my Dad this year, unfortunately he has now had to pull out due to another bad cold, so it is my time you need to guess
