Well Rory and Dennis completed the course in a respectable 4 hours, stopping to catch their breath or so I'm told, but then I also heard talk of a pint.
Rory is registered blind and works for AbilityNet as a corporate and development manager. He is also an extremely fit 35 year old athlete and has persuaded Dennis a 54 year old Director of AbilityNet to climb onto a tandem and ride 50 miles around Brighton for AbilityNet on Saturday 26 September 2009.
Not a smart move some would say getting on a bike with someone who is registered blind, but you have to understand what a fantastic charity AbilityNet is.
AbilityNet helps anyone who has a disability to use information communication technology to give them more independence. If you can blink your eye you can use a computer to control your environment such as the lights, heating or television. It also enables a disabled person to do the things we take for granted such as banking, shopping and communicate with family and friends.
Rory uses information communication technology every day to help him in his work and is addicted to making sure others can benefit as well, so please dig deep and donate now and support this worthwhile cause.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
