Story
It’s down to one of my inspirational sister’s that I find myself in this situation where I have taken on the ultimate challenge of training for my first ever marathon, which also happens to be the first ever marathon to take place in Brighton on Sunday 18th April 2010, how mad is that!!!
How do I feel? excited, terrified and scared all at the same time but truth be told I am really looking forward to it. I have learnt a lot about how my body works, what it needs to perform and recover quickly, the internet is a great source of information. I have just finished reading the most thought provoking, powerful and transformational book, ‘Marathon, The Ultimate Training Guide (third edition) by Hal Higdon, it is a must, take my word for it.To those that know me I am all about transformation, taking risks, continually doing something that scares me, life can be too short. I am looking to raise £1,000 for the Bromley by Bow Centre, a charity, based in East London ‘who works with over 2,000 families, adults and young people. They support local people to learn new skills, improve their mental and physical health, find employment and start their own businesses’, visit www.bbbc.org.uk for more information.
