Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.  This February myself and 3 other Glasgow vet students are volunteering for 4 weeks in Luxor Egypt with a fantastic charity called ACE (Animal Care Egypt).  This is an amazing opportunity to offer medical care to animals who desperately need it, as well as assist in educating their people on how best to care for them. Here is a bit of information on the center itself

The veterinary Hospital provides free veterinary care and treatment for owners who rely so heavily on their animals to feed, clothe, and house their families and in most circumstances would not be able to afford adequate veterinary care. In addition ACE provides care to all kinds of neglected and abused animals.  They also run an educational program where up to 300 children a week come from local schools to learn that animals feel pain and should be treated with respect. They also learn  basic animal care and husbandry. ACE is improving the lives of animals in Egypt, not only by treatment but also by education and prevention. ACE is doing all they can to ensure better welfare standards in the future for all animals 

I am so incredibly excited for this opportunity to help both the animals and their people in Luxor. The center runs solely on donations and a little goes a long way. For example: $15 covers the treatment of sores so common on work horses and donkeys and $30 covers the anesthesia for a life saving surgery.  Just giving allows for any donations to go directly to ACE.  Thank you all so much for taking the time to read my probably too wordy story and for all the support and encouragement you have given me over the years.
