Thanks for taking the time to visit the Justgiving page of Shane and Rosie McMahon.
As some of you may know Rosie was in Intensive Care in an induced coma to allow her severe head injury to heal after the Road Traffic Accident but as you can read from below has sadly passed away.
Many of you have been asking about sending flowers and gifts to the hospital.
We would like to ask that rather than sending flowers you donate the funds to our nominated registered charity BamakoBampots who are raising £30,000 to provide two fully functional Landrover Ambulances to operate as field clinics in a remote area of Mali.

As i talked to most of you today I was told of fond personal memories of your times with Rosie, always with a smile and sometimes a giggle. Rosie had an amazing outlook on life - Live it to the MAX
She would want us to remember the good times and to try something new every day no matter how small. Make one person smile a day is all I ask.

Status as of 0800 Monday 8th Feb
It is with deep sadness that we have to make the following announcement. Sunday afternoon 7th February, Rosie fell asleep for the last time in her Husband Shane’s arms, Rosie had spent the weekend surrounded by her Family and Friends each one blessed by her presence and each remembering fondly the positive impact Rosie had on our their lives. Letters from around the world were continually read out to Rosie, all of which offered continued Prayers, thoughts and comforting words of support and encouragement, messages from Down the street to Scotland, Eire, Europe, Australia, Peru and Argentina.
It is Rosie’s close family’s wish, Shane, Sidney, Emily, John and Rita’s that we “Celebrate the Life” and fondly remember the forever smiling, bouncy and motivating Rosie we all love.
In accordance to this wish, the family would like to kindly request that as they prepare for this “Celebration of life” in the coming days, if you could please forward your fondest and personal memories of Rosie, relaying the daft silly stories that have and continue to make us smile, laugh and giggle at life, the cherished moments you shared, or a piece of Bouncy! Music like “Rhythm is a Dancer”, “Black Boxes Ride on Time” or “Brown Eyed Girl” that means “Rosie” to you.
I am Steve Morris; I hold the accolade of “Best Man” at Rosie and Shane’s Wedding, which seemed like only yesterday! As I continue to support the family through this time, I will be happy to collate a Special Memory for the “Celebration of life” which will happen at a later date allowing as many of you to attend from around the world as is physically possible.
Please send your photographs to share of yourselves with Rosie, especially those that show Rosie as the smiling happy bouncy, diving, running, skiing, horse riding or dancing, fun loving and active person she was. To help us put names to faces please send pictures of yourselves with any messages…you send through.

Status as of 0034 Sunday 7th Feb
After this mornings scare at 4:45am when we received a phone call telling us we had mere hours to make arrangements, Rosie has beaten all medical opinions given this morning. She is alive, stable and responding to stimulus just as she was last week. they just dont know how strong she is or how much she wants to do in life... LOTS!!!
She had lots of visitors today, each had a story / plan for the future that she responded to whether it was skiing, horse racing, cruise, scuba or safari

The district of Kalaban Coro in Mali encompasses 220 square kilometres and has a population of 49,000 people. Life expectance at birth is 38 yrs but more than 218 out of every 1000 children, that’s over 1:5, do not live beyond 5 Yrs old. 475 out of every 1000 die between the ages of 15 and 60 due to lack of sanitation and medical facitities. That is almost half the population. (figures from World Health Organisation downloaded 18.07.07)
Bamako Bampots believe in helping a community help itself. That is why we provide a 3 year maintenance program ensuring that the doctors, nurses and mechanics locally in Mali gain the knowledge to effectively support their community providing critical neonatal care and malaria prevention. With all overheads being covered by the trustees this means that every penny donated to the registered charity goes to landrover parts, medical equipment and vaccines or clean water supplies.
When you donate to the charity you make a difference in the lives of people in Africa. Below are just some examples of how far your donation can go. No donation is too small or too large. Whatever you are able to donate will make a difference.
£2,000 could cover the cost of building materials with the labour provided by the community for one major new well for a community of 500 people.
£1,500 could pay for the maintenance and spare mechanical parts of 2 Landrover Ambulances for one year
£820 Could vaccinate all women and children in an average-size village (811 people)
£200 could pay for drip irrigation for two family's fields in a drought prone area.
£150 could help rehabilitate one local village well.
£120 Could pay for anti malaria bed nets for 12 families.
£100 Provide 50+ people with access to high-quality antibiotics
£20 Distribute 20 insecticide-treated bednets to prevent malaria
£15 Could provide a family with a Solar cooker freeing them from foraging for wood or vegitation as fuel.
£10 - Fully vaccinates 5 village children
£ 5 Could treat a patient with life threatening malaria.
