I’m about to do the most exciting, frightening and challenging event of my life; the Clipper Round the World Yacht race. I’m racing the 4000 mile leg, from San Francisco down the Pacific Ocean to the Panama Canal, and then through the Caribbean to Jamaica, taking just over 4 weeks. I will be a crew member on the Uniquely Singapore boat
- I want to use this race to raise £4000 for my local charity, Peterborough Soup Kitchen.http://www.peterboroughsoupkitchen.org/ . We need £18,000 for a new van that we desperately need to serve the food we prepare
- The soup kitchen feed about 350 homeless and disadvantaged people in Peterborough every week; throughout the year, all delivered by volunteers. I am a volunteer
- The food that we offer is essential for the homeless, poor and disadvantaged
- The charity has been operating for 26 years but only survives on donations from the public
- All money raised goes to the charity (I’m paying all the costs of my trip)
