I am going to be participating on a voyage on theTall Ship 'Tenacious'. I will be sailing on race leg 3 of STI Historical Seas Tall Ships Regatta 2010, from Istanbul to Lavrion (Greece). Tenacious is a square rigger ship, uniquely designed to accommodate both ablebodied and physically disabled people. Tenacious is owned by Jubilee Sailing Trust, the world leader in promoting intergration between people of all physical abilities, through Tall Ship sailing.
All voyagers make a contribution , whatever their abilities. Everyone works together to keep the ship running - this involves swabbing the decks and cooking, as well as setting the sails and helming. I feel this is an excellent opportunity to develop my own ability to work in a team and learn from the particular challenges of life at sea, with a mixed ability crew.
