Yes, that's right I'm doing it again....
This is the second time I am running the Bristol Half Marathon for The Jessie May Trust.
The Jessie May Trust provide a hospice service at home for children who are likely to die in their childhood. The very best place for children and young people with a terminal illness is at home where they feel comfortable and loved. However, caring for them is a relentless responsibility for parents, family and friends. The Jessie May Trust provide a free Palliative Care Service for children and young people who are not expected to live beyond nineteen years. We work in Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire.
I felt that if I was going to run the Bristol Half Marathon for a charity then it had to be local charity providing care to children that live the same city as myself.
I'm no athlete but I am determined to finish this years half marathon faster than I completed it two years ago. I know exactly what I've got install and it's going to be a very hard morning, however it would never be as difficult as the challenges the parents/carers face when caring for their terminally ill child. Make this experience a little easier for me and also improve the quality of life for these children by giving a worthwhile donation.
A big thank you to all of you for your support and donations.
Roll on the 6th September.....
