26/04/2010 Well back home having successfully completed the marathon, the time was slower than I would have liked but having not trained for 3 weeks I will have to be satisfied with a time of 3 hours 52 minutes. Thank you all for your online donations when I have collected sponsorship from my other sources I will update the page to give the total raised. Thanks once again.
18/04/2010 A better day, back training after the laying on of hands on my injured calf muscle so now thinking about Sunday in London and the marathon.
04/04/2010 A bad day today went to do 22 miles yesterday pulled up with a calf strain at 14.5 miles 4 miles from home. Tried to run Monday unable too, is this the start of the end of my 2010 marathon?
Why am I running and putting myself through all of this training again at 66 years of age, well, being able to run it is one small way that I can offer support to those less able than myself and having lost friends and family to cancer and other related diseases, the free support that St Giles offers to the sick and the families of those with incurable illnesses can only continue if charitable donations are given.
We sometimes feel old and weary but there are many more out there who are far worse off, so why not help them and make their remaining days as comfortable as possible. Your donation will help with their care at home and in the Hospice if required.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails.
