My story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page dedicated to my late cousin Satyendra Kabra.
I am raising money for two causes and this is one of them. Live Life Then Give Life is a UK based charity whose aim is to save and improve the lives of all those in need or receipt of organ and tissue transplants. The charity exists to improve education and awareness of organ donation and to fund projects that increase the numbers of successful transplants in the UK.
My cousin was on the waiting list for a donor liver for many months, to cure him of his then contained liver cancer. Unfortunately, no successfully matched donor could be found, and the tumour spread.
Satu bhai and our family would have been in a very different position , if he had received a new liver. I have carried a donor card since I was 12 years old and strongly believe in organ donation. If you have not considered it before, please think about it. Please visit the NHS organ donation website (http://www.organdonation.nhs.uk/ukt/statistics/downloads/weekly_stats.pdf) and see how many people’s lives are being changed, and could be changed if more people donated.
In the meanwhile, please support this charity and the work they are doing to increase awareness on this important subject.
