Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
In September we are going to attempt to make it up (and hopefully down) Kilimanjaro, Africa's Highest Mountain. Our group will be made up of five - Olly, Jayne, Chris, Nick and Simon - and apparently one in five don't reach the summit so we will be hoping to beat the odds!
The charity we have chosen to support is Community Projects Africa.
Community Projects Africa is a registered United Kingdom charity set up in 2003 to provide support to impoverished people living in east and south Africa.
The projects supported are those involving schooling, vocational training, sanitation, provision of safe water supplies, education about Aids/HIV, assistance for families affected by Aids/HIV, and community projects. The charity works with the elders and community councils to ensure that all projects are backed and supported by the local people.
The majority of admin costs are covered by the Trustees of the charity. This is one of the advantages of giving to a small charity!
Its founder set Community Projects Africa up after climbing Kilimanjaro herself and wanted to give something back to Tanzania. You can find out more about CPA here:
