Thank you for visiting my page! Let me first tell you about me...its quite short, just 8 hours of your time (click "Read more" below)
The Serious Part...oh oh
I am a fat sportsman, (not neccessarily a good one but I do have my glory moments of bouncing on my tummy), still am annoyingly competetive and a damn sore loser. But I have Asthma...naa its not so bad, its pretty mild. It comes and goes in intensity BUT it was a lot worse when I was a child up until my late youth with several severe attacks. But thanks to Asthma treatments, I am able to live my life playing the sports I love most, mainly cricket and badminton. So I live happily ever after so far...
But while my asthma is mild there are others
who do not
have the luxury to even pursue their sporting activities as much as I
do. I think of all the people who have so much
potential (some could even have become Olympic athletes) but can never
exploit that potential. And then there are those who have it so bad
they find it
difficult to exercise which can lead to obesity and other unhealthy
factors. 1 in 12 people suffer asthma so it is probably likely that you
know
someone who does, or perhaps even suffer it yourself. But one thing I
didnt know was that someone dies every 7 hours
from Asthma in the UK. Well I know Asthma is a nuisance to me, and quite bad for many others but I didnt know people bloody
die from it.
So it is a
combination of all of these factors made me decide to raise funds for this organisation that endeavours to research ways to
fight and eliminate Asthma which has no cure yet. Inhalers can only
illeviate the breathing to a manageable level but the asthma is always
there.
The Great North
Run!
So this great cute cuddly chunky fat man will be running the
Great North Run in Newcastle/Gateshead on September 19th 2010. That's what I hope you can sponsor me for on this page. Its a
televised event and is the second most popular half marathon in the
world! And being the fatman that I am, the tv camera surely wont miss me.
Healthy Lifestyle and Fitness.. ahem, come again?
Run FatMan Run, thats what I was going to call this mission because I weighed 19 stones beginning of November 2009. But I have depressing news for my potential sponsors. Its now 7 months later and I am this damn weird thin guy. I...I dont know what happened, I have lost 5 stones (32kg) and gained 10% muscle mass. Bloody hell. Kinda, taking this run a bit seriously are'nt I? I've turned into a health freak...help...I'm having these strange feelings of feeling ughh...great, healthy, rejuvenated, athletic, frikin A...oh no what the hell happened to me. I'm enjoying healthy food and despising fatty food...I must be flipping possessed by Jamie Oliver...wait cant be him he's not dead. It gets worse, I go to the gym 4 times a week,
play badmington once a week and play cricket once/twice a week. Maybe I should run around the world at this rate. Whoever is possesing my body, is commincating to me, its saying I intend to keep this up until I'm 90 years old. Thank god for that, because I was really hoping to form a rock band when I reach that age.
So I'm really sorry folks, but I'm not chunky anymore, please still sponsor me? And if you'd like to also be possessed by this health freak, let me know as I think I can help you but I'll warn you, once possessed, its for life, well until you're 90 years apparantly.
Huge

Update (this is kind of a mini bore...I mean blog):
5-7-10 I will also be taking part in the British 10km London Run on 11th July, a very big event with 700,000 people taking part in running around the famous London landmarks looking like weird warped up tourists in a real damn hurry to catch their flight back home.
8-7-10 A fellow cricketer read this page and said he doesnt believe people die from asthma, in fact he didnt believe I had asthma and thought I made all this up to get sponsorship! Yep, I made it all up, please sponsor my incredible creativity :)
11-7-10 So I ran the British 10k London run and it was bloody brilliant. 23,000 runners took part and I ended up being in the top 3rd with a finish time of 55:19mins! Dont believe me chec my certification photo in the photo gallery! Funny pic, huh? I look deliriously mad, running away from from zombies (though on closer inspection, I'm the one who looks like one, notice the dribble ugh!)
15-7-10 Recall that fellow cricket I told you about, earlier, well kudos to him as he actually took initiative to research my "bold claims" of how asthma kills people (he never believes what I say, dont blame him actually, no one does) and is now a very shocked but firm believer and kindly donated to the cause after he read the following article:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/medical_notes/233033.stm
Asthma claims lives, there's no cure yet, just moderately sustainable treatments. As part of the Asthma UK team I'd be greatful for your help to donate towards helping researchers find a cure and improve on current treatments.
8-9-10
Just 6 weeks to go, I have run 17km 2 weeks ago but I am now having to rest running and any impact sports for 1-2 weeks as I have picked up an archilles heel injury..aaarghh...but dont worry, I will make it through and complete the BUPA within the 2hour target time. Just need to be disciplined with resting my heel but I will keep improving my fitness with non impact cardio such as x trainer, cycling, and rowing and weights so all good, there is always a way!
10-09-10
Just 10 days to go!!! How am I doing...GREAT! I ran 21.1km in 1hr 58mins! I can DO IT!!! Whoaaa, I really can do it...who would a thought it...not sure if its sinking in yet...I even had a heel injury scare lately and had to stop running for 3 weeks but I was diligent with my rehab exercises (4 times a day) and I was fixed...Never give up my friends, no matter what obstacles come your way, just navigate around them.
Well Next Stop...THE GREAT NORTH RUN...HERE I COME
