Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit Ryan's JustGiving page.

I intend to jump out of a perfectly good aeroplane in the name of Charity, along with a few people from local businesses, and I need your help in raising the money!

I'm doing this in support of the Royal National Institute for the Blind to help raise awareness of the work they do.  Charities like the RNIB don't get anywhere near as much attention as some of the big ones (i.e. Cancer charities), but their work is just as important.

50% of people who go blind needn't have, thanks to advances in treatment of eye conditions, but they need to be caught early.  Prevention is better than cure with treating potentially blinding eye conditions, and that's where the RNIB come in.

Yes... I'm terrified!  But it's all for a good cause, so donate away please!

Loads of facts below - see more here - https://www.actionforblindpeople.org.uk/about-us/media-centre/facts-and-figures-about-issues-around-sight-loss/

"Sight loss affects people of all ages. Sight loss affects people of all ages but especially older people: 1 in 5 people aged 75 and 1 in 2 aged 90 and over are living with sight loss."(Access Economics, 2009)

"Two-thirds of registered blind and partially sighted people of working age are not in paid employment." (Douglas et al, Network 1000, 2006)
