This year the JB Kind annual challenge will involve carrying one of our wooden doors to the top of Mt Snowdon to raise money for Staffordshire based St Giles Hospice. There are photos below of our recent practice climb up Thorpe Cloud, Ashbourne

I originally thought this may be 'quite' challenging but having practiced carrying the door on a flat surface for 15 minutes I am now rather concerned about hauling it up a 1,085m mountain and back down again on what will be a 9 mile round trip on rugged terrain. This is actually a monster challenge, but well worth the effort to support a fabulous charity and the pain and hard work we will endure for 9 hours will be worth every penny of your generous donation.

The 9 mile round trip carrying the 6ft 6in, 30kg door will be completed by 12 JBK employees, working in teams of four to take their turn carrying the unusual load. Aptly carrying a door called 'Snowdon' from our Montana range (I'm hoping we will use the Barbados door next year)!

Saturday 27th July 2013 is D(oor)-Day and our team is busy in training for the event with a practice session in the Derbyshire hills coming soon (pictures to follow)!

Whilst St Giles is an extremely worthy charity it also happens to be their 30th anniversary this year as it is our 30th anniversary for the supply of feature wooden doors, so it seems fitting that we can team up to support the excellent care they provide.
