Improving quality of life through education. We work at a grassroots level with communities in Uganda across three core areas: alternative education, livelihoods and school infrastructure. We work to empower communities to be eco-friendly, self-sufficient and responsible for their futures.

Story

Hi all,

Thanks for taking the time to visit our Soft Power Education Christmas Donations page. Christmas is that time of year when we all go crazy spending, eating and drinking in excess. We have all given and received presents which were perhaps not really needed but making a donation to Soft Power Education really can go a long way. Your donation will help to ensure a child goes to school in a safe classroom, will give a child an opportunity to use a computer for the very first time, will allow a lady to start learning English and so much more.

Once you have made a donation, we will email you our beautiful Christmas card to print out and send out allowing your friends and family to see that you have made a donation to SPE as their present.

In case you don't know about us, we are a British registered charity and Ugandan NGO working to improve quality of life in Uganda through education. To date we have

- worked on over 400 classrooms at 45 schools, renovating, refurbishing and building

- built an inspiring education centre in Kyabirwa where over 3000 primary pupils come every year to experience hands on learning in a unique environment

- set up and continue to run 2 pre schools for orphans and children from desperately poor families

- set up a conservation education programme around the Murchison Falls National Park to promote protection of the National Park area.

- set up a Special Educational Needs unit to promote inclusion rather than exclusion of children with disabilities.

We have only been able to achieve so much thanks to the generousity of visiting tourists, long term volunteers, student groups and individuals from around the world.
