THE CHALLENGE:
============
Chris, Neall, Andrew, Warren and John will be completing the 15 PEAKS CHALLENGE to raise funds for an initiative called STOP. As team STOPstart, we will be attempting to summit 15 highest peaks in Snowdonia in 24hrs or less. That's 26-30 miles of scrambling and strenuous hill walking over the 15 peaks higher than 3,000 feet.
We will be climbing a combined 14,000 feet with the added pressure of achieving rigorous checkpoint times along the route in order to stay in the race. With an average age of 39 this is no walk in the park.

THE CAUSE:

STOP is an new initiative, working with schools to confront the issues of BULLYING and SELF HARM through the medium of drama and small group follow up work.
BULLYING is a common problem in schools. The simple strategy is to expose the issue of bullying and equip all the students to know how to deal with it, thereby making it possible to change the culture in these schools.
SELF HARM is sensitively handled through a drama called "The problem with being Lydia" which encourages those gripped by this illness to seek help.
STOP is one of a number of initiatives delivered by a North London charitable trust called N:flame for which Chris (STOPstart team member) is a trustee.

N:FLAME:
=======
N:flame is an organisation whose passion and purpose is to serve local schools in a number of North London boroughs (Haringey, Islington, Camden, Southgate, Enfield, Barnet).
The team is motivated by their 'faith in action' which seeks to help young people in a number of ways;
- Getting into schools where the peer pressure is greatest and challenging the values and highlighting the dangers of modern urban youth culture's widely accepted norms (such as drugs, pornography, alcohol abuse, gang violence, sexual promiscuity, teenage pregnancies etc), calling this generation of teenagers to dare to live by a different set of values.
- Working with the schools to confront the issue of bullying and self harm.
- Offering mentoring to students with social and exclusion problems.
- Providing a support network and equipping for teenagers who are trying to live a counter-cultural lifestyle.
