Frank Cioffi died on January 1 2012 due to natural causes which was the result of a bowel obstruction due to the twisting of his intestinal tube.  Frank had problems in this area for several years and was sadly due to have a hospital appointment in Canterbury to investigate this area on the 12 January. Before the time of his death Frank was the main carer for his wife Nalini who in February 2011 had a very bad fall and required bore surgery on the cranium. He leaves behind his loving wife Nalini who has been moved to a nursing care home in Barham Kent.

 

Frank was born in on 11 January 1928 and spent his childhood in New York USA. His early career was spent in the American Army in Japan and France. In 1954 he obtained his degrees from Oxford (UK) in Psychology, Philosophy and Physiology. He also lectured in University of Singapore and spent some time in Berkley (USA) and in 1973 became the founding Professor at the University of Essex and in the mid nineties he semi - retired  to a Research Professorship at the University of Kent.

 

Frank during his lifetime and up to the time of his death Frank had made great contributions to his science in continually writing articles, books and analysing his discipline in Philosophy.
