This summer I am volunteering for Oxford Development Abroad, a charity that specialises in development projects overseas. I will be one of 15 students from Oxford University to travel to Nepal to take part in a development project in a remote mountainous village. The project will involve construction of a community centre and improvements to flood protection and the school. This will all help a poor community that would otherwise be unable to afford these vital developments.

 

As a volunteer it is my responsiblity to raise the money in advance for building materials and to finance the project. In an effort to achieve this I am going to do an 800+ miles sponsored bike ride to Berlin in June/July.
