So suddenly it all feels real.......I've had the idea of running the London Marathon.......Ive entered and got a place.......Ive chosen which charity I will be raising money for....Ive bought a pair of trainers....Ive even been keeping to a running schedule!!!.......and now I have my own just giving donation page.........at last its all coming together!

I'm raising money for this charity because last year a member of my family almost died because of it.

Tumours had grown on her kidneys enlarging them to the size of rugby balls, the photos the surgeons took were shocking.

The tumours kept bleeding causing major blood loss, she was rushed into hospital with a major kidney bleed and with only hours to live......they managed to stem the bleeding and she was transferred to london where the removal of both kidneys took place once she had stabilised.

After 10 hours of surgery and months in hospital her life is very different......she attends dialysis everyother day, she has to follow a strict limited diet and watch her fluid intake.

Albeit there were complications during the operation which means her life today is different from what we would expect, she is here today and there were many times along this journey when we thought that she might not be.

She had a great Christmas with family all around her.

Lots of gifts were bought to give this christmas but this gift that I hope you are giving is different its going to help towards making someone/ a familys life a little better.......its going to help towards research....its going to help a family NOT feel completely alone to cope with this devastating disease...its going to give hope that the first ever treatment for Tuberous Sclerosis is just around the corner.....its going to give better treatment for epilepsy......

What is certain is that there is NO CURE for Tuberous Sclerosis.

What is not certain is what will happen next as no one can tell how Tuberous Sclerosis is going to effect each individual.

Tuberous Sclerosis can cause tumours to grow anywhere in the body, often in the developing brain of unborn babies and children causing epilepsy, autism, attention problems and learning difficulties: often blighting their childhood with severe disability.

70% of babies with Tuberous Sclerosis are born to families with no medical history of the disease........so please please help me raise as much money as possible and reach my target........

I'll be running 26 miles on April 25th 2010..........All I ask is that you please support me by just giving

Thank you

Sam Golding and family x
