Hi all,

First of all thank you for visiting my London Marathon Just Giving page.

Here's a little insight into why I wanted to run the race this year.

Very recently I was hit with the shocking news that a family friends daughter, aged 10, has been diagnosed with cancer after a tumour was found underneath her kneecap. 

At the time of the news and even now, I struggled to comprehend how difficult it must be for a 10-year-old, and her parents, to hear that diagnosis and face the fact that she would have to undergo serious treatment as soon as possible.

Since being diagnosed, Ella has remained strong, happy and undeterred by her illness which I think is remarkable. Whilst Ella's parents have also shown great strength and willpower to fight this illness which effects approximately 1,600 children every year in the UK.

It is because of this sheer strength and determination that I have decided to run the London Marathon 2014 as a testament to Ella and her family during this tough and challenging time.

I am currently preparing my training plan to start in the New Year and my fundraising target currently stands at £2000 which I hope to achieve over the next four months!

There will be plenty of carb-overloading going on, blister plasters purchased and long runs on cold, wet and wintery nights so I'm hoping that the donations will keep me focused on the 26.2 miles I'm going to enjoy (endure!) on the 13 April 2014.

I have plenty of fundraising activities planned and will keep you all updated, but if you can spare a donation, no matter how big or small, I would really appreciate your support for Ella and this great cause.
