Story
I never thought I would see a loved one go through dementia and the impact it has on everyone. My Nan rose started off with forgetting the simplest things like washing and eating but over time dementia took her memories and her spirt. My Nan was a strong woman, funny and believed in family. I loved her stories about her life before and with her dementia she would talk about everything. But in the end even them stories was taken away.
The one thing of many things Nan told me was “ Sarah make memories” it’s something I do everyday now. So this life long dream to run the London marathon is important to me personally so I can make a memory as I promised Nan.
To get to London marathon I have been so lucky to be offered a charity place for Alzheimer’s society but I have pledged to raise £2000 for my running place and this can only be accomplished if you donate, I will be donating my time to not only training for 26.2 miles which I have already started training for 9 months before the big day but time to get to my target in fund raising.
very three minutes, someone develops dementia. We can beat it, but we cant do it alone.Alzheimer's Society is the UK's leading dementia charity. Until the day we find a cure, we will create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted in their community.Every penny you donate is making sure we can be there for people affected by dementia.
