Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On Sunday 25th October I am taking on the challenge of running in the Lucerne marathon in Switzerland to raise money for The Jamie Abbott Fund in conjunction with The Neuroblastoma Society.
Neuroblastoma is a malignant cancer affecting the nervous system in children up to 14 years of age. Jamie, my cousin died of Neuroblastoma in 1984 when he was 5 years old and since his death my family and I have been working hard to raise money for this charity. After Jamie's death and in conjunction with the Neuroblastoma society, a separate fund was set up in Jamie's name. Over the years many people have worked hard organising fund raising events such as coffee mornings, tennis tournaments and an annual Jamie Abbott Golf Day. So far over 140,000 pounds has been raised, every penny being passed on to The Neuroblastoma Society and used directly for medical research.
I hope that by running in this Marathon I will be able to raise more funds for this worthy cause. With this in mind it has helped me to maintain my training programme and I sincerely hope it gives me the will to keep going during those excruciating final few miles.
I would like to thank you for taking the time to read this message and I greatly appreciate any donation you may wish to make.
Kind regards
Sarah
