After the London Marathon
I have now completed the London Marathon in 5hrs25minutes. Not what i hoped but under the circumstances i was glad to finish. I had to stop off at St Johns Ambulance 3 times during the 26.2 miles, my knee gave way at 17 miles and then the dreaded cramp began!!! From 20 miles i started getting cramp which forced me to walk it off every time, starting running again was not easy. There were alot of tears during and days after due to the pain. But at the end of the day although i wished for a better time, i still managed to get alot of money for charity and thats the only thing that matters. The pain was definately worth it so thank you so much to all that have sponsored me. It is such a worthwhile charity (please read below). If you havent already donated its not to late, im leaving it open until the end of July so please any money you can is greatly appreciated.
Before the London Marathon
As some of you may know im going to run the London Marathon in April... Thats right me! That means cutting down on the alcohol (this is the difficult part), watching my diet and training really hard. The London Marathon is 26.2 miles and im hoping to do this in less than 5 hours, i will probably have to take a week of work to recover! I have just done a 1/2 marathon so am well on my way now.
So why you ask am i putting myself through this torture?
For a charity that is close to my heart, UK Youth. Its an organisation that helps young people back into the community with non formal education. It gives young people who thought they had noone and who maybe gave up the spirit and faith in people again. It gives a voice to people who are rarely heard and builds skills that will remain useful throughout their lives.
Trust me when i say this is not going to be an easy journey for me, but i think you'll agree if you visit the UK Youth site its well worth it. 6am morning runs and putting my body through a lot of strain it has to be.
This is how serious i am ...... I have even considered not drinking on my birthday (which is in April). But we will see how that goes maybe only a couple of Vodka's hehe. So please be generous with your Donation, however every penny counts! Remember your money really can change someones life!
Thanks very much in advance for all your help
