Since September 2008 we have been challenged to take part in one of our community action projects, to raise awareness of worldwide and community issues.
If every member takes small actions, we can add them up and show that little things can make a big difference.
Commemorating an event as special as our guiding Centenary calls for more than just cakes and balloons, in true guiding style it calls for a challenge ....................
On the 12 of September 2009, we (Morag, Gillian, Sarah and Laura) plan to climb Ben Nevis in aid of St. Andrew’s Hospice, Lanarkshire.
As Lanarkshire’s only Hospice it provides palliative care for terminally ill patients. It also provides day care services, home care and counselling to both patients and relatives. On top of this St Andrew’s Hospice offers education to nurses to degree level.
The Hospice needs to raise £45,000 from funding every week to keep the centre going. We hope to raise at least £1400 from our challenge and help them continue with this wonderful service.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor us: St Andrew's Hospice, Lanarkshire gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
We are very grateful for all donations, so please dig deep for this very worthy charity. We and St Andrew's Hospice really appreciate your help in reaching our fundraising target.
