My story

Hello, and welcome!

I would first like to thank you for taking time to visit my fundraising site and making a donation to a very deserving charity.

At the start of 2012 I made a conscious decision to be a more charitable person as I felt like I wasn't doing my part to help others.

I wanted to find a charity that I could relate to, and that's when I came across Action On Addiction.

As some of you might or might not know already, I first embarked on a life without smoking 5 ago. I have since extended that into a life without alcohol and I am currently 2 years sober. My reasons for this journey were simple, I felt like both addictions were stopping me from being someone, ME! I owed it not only to my family and friends to put that right, but I owed it to myself as well.

Although I was able to make these changes without too much help and too many problems, it was only because I had a the wonderful support of family and friends who were behind me 100%. Some people aren't as fortunate as I am, and that's where people like Action On Addiction are so amazing. They can make a difference! They can help people refind themselves and support them every step of the way in their recovery.

Please help me to help support them by donating as much money as you feel comfortable giving, and I can promise you that not only will your donation be gratefully appreciated by me, but it'll be wisely spent by a wonderful charity.

Addiction can be and is devastating, it can tear families apart and ruin people's lives. Change shouldn't be feared, it should be embraced. Let's help others who could do with a bit of extra support.

Many thanks for your time and your donation.

Scott Bailey

Thank you for all your amazing donations so far, I'm truely humbled! So far training has taken me to 9 miles, and Due to break 10 mile barrier this weekend. What you might not know already is that I'm going to train up to a marathon in prep for next year's London. Stay tuned....
