Heya there! Thanks for taking the time to visit my page!
I'm Scott Westwood, 20 years of age, from West Bromwich, West Midlands.
I have recently been offered a place for the 3 year BA course at RADA (The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art). After going through a very competitive audition process, I have found out that I have gained a place and start in September 2011 (once I get down from Cloud 9!).
This is something I have been working towards for a number of years. Since an early age I've been interested in Acting. Going through my secondary school, Queen Mary's Grammar School, and doing various after-school shows, I left to go to another 6th form college where I studied for a BTEC Double Award National Diploma in Performing Arts, to which I achieved a Double Distinction. After leaving college I pursued acting in a more career-driven sense. In the time between my college and attaining a place in RADA, I have been in several shows with my local theatre group, The Crescent Theatre, which include roles such as 'Rodolpho' in "A View From The Bridge" and 'Septimus Hodge' in "Arcadia". In addition to these shows, I've toured with a production of "Dorian Gray" and performed in the Edinburgh Fringe Festival with "HOOD!". Also included are several short films and projects for universities and colleges.
To gain a place at RADA is a dream come true, and ever since a young age I've wanted to be able to go through this process! To cover my move and living in London, I've had to raise a certain amount of funds. After going through the avenues of Student Loans and such, the amount I'm hoping to raise is £3000.
Sponsors for students at RADA receive student progress reports and donations over £500 receive credit in all relevant RADA publications and invitations to attend the student productions each term.
Any contribution, no matter how big or small, would be greatly appreciated, and will receive utmost amount of gratitude from myself!!!
Thank you very much for your time!!!
