Hello!
I am taking part in the Run to the Beat half marathon in Greenwich on Sunday 27 September and I would be most grateful if you could contribute a few pennies or pounds towards my £500 target, which I am donating to Barts and The London Charity.
Barts and The London Charity is an independent charity supporting Barts and the London NHS Trust (St Bartholomew's Hospital, The Royal London Hospital and The London Chest Hospital), Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry and The School of Community and Health Sciences.
Its vision is to be a leading charity promoting excellence in healthcare and its mission is to raise, invest and grant funds for innovation and improvement in patient care, medical research and education.
I believe it to be a very worthy cause and any donation would be greatly appreciated.
On a personal note, regarding my training, as I am sure most of you appreciate, I have not exercised since I came joint last (it was a photo finish) in a cross country at the age of 11, so this could be interesting.
Though I obviously look after myself - my body is a temple etc - some of those 'in the know' suggest that my diet and lifestyle may in fact not have helped my training...
...we will see...one way or the other, there will be red faces at the finish line on Sunday 27 September.
We are in the midst of a recession folks, and I understand that times are tough, but if you can spare a couple of pounds it would be gratefully received.
Thanks a million,
Seamus.
