Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On the 15th of August, I will be risking life (and knees) by taking part in the Pride 10km Run in Victoria Park. I will be doing this in aid of The Albert Kennedy Trust, a charity helping young lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people who are homeless or living in a hostile environment. All money raised will go towards helping the increasing number of young LGBT people who suffer rejection by parents, families and carers.
As a
consequence of ‘coming out’, many find themselves living in an abusive
or hostile environment or being forced out of the home. The Trust, now in its 20th year, helped over 1,400 people in 2008,
providing appropriate homes through supported lodgings, and enabling
young people to successfully live independently. Through mentoring,
representation, the Trust helps them rebuild confidence, alleviate
emotional problems, and fulfil potential in a stable, caring and
supportive environment.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep (very deep) and donate now. Then buy me a drink afterwards.
