We undertake global conservation work to ensure people and nature both thrive

Story

Hi Guys,

I thought I would write about my reasoning for this page. It has always been an ambition of mine to undertake the London Marathon and each year I would say " I will do it next year". So I finally got the courage (Or the stupidity) to apply through a charity. I picked the World Wildlife Fund due to my love of most things furry (execpt spiders, and lads no Jokes!! :) ) They offer support around the world in conserving natural habitats for many wild endangered species including Tigers, Pandas and many others, while replanting forests to substain the next generation. They also train and educate people to look after their environments in order to help animals. As I have children, I would love them to grow up with the prospect that they could still be able to see these animals in the wild and have a planet that supports nature not robs from it.

I have started my training already but do have a 22 week plan leading up to the marathon, which is a pretty daunting challenge in its self with all the work and family commitments, not to mention running during the winter. I will keep my progress posted (If anyone is bothered) maybe even throw in a couple of funny pics of me running.

Here are a few things that your money could be used for:

£10 buys 40 seedlings to replant forests in Tanzania

£25 Pays for a Rhino protection unit salary for 10 days

£100 trains one villager in Borneo as a wildlife warden

£200 Buys a camera trap to film tigers in thailand (Go on you know you want to donate this much!!!)
