I am raising money for the children of SKIP. Many of you will be aware of the work SKIP does from my time volunteering in Peru, in 2009. On this occasion money is being raised to purchase a graded reading scheme, which will allow the children that SKIP support, the best possible chance of developing the literacy skills that are so vital, and are so rarely provided through the state school system. They believe this scheme can make a huge difference, but need to raise over $2,000 to purchase it. I am trying to do my bit...
Over the past couple of years I have carefully cultivated some Rafa Nadal-esque locks with a subtle strategy of never paying for a haircut. However, the time has come to unleash the clippers and shear it all off. Being as I will probably look like the archetypal football hooligan (except with glasses), I am seeking some form of compensation for my loss...
The shearing is scheduled for the second or third week in June (exact date to follow shortly!) so please donate if you are able...
Thank you to all the people I have already approached, for giving so generously. If you are likely to see me over the next few weeks please feel free to email or text me and I will pop your name down on a sponsorship form. If not, please donate through this Just Giving page.
I am returning to SKIP in July and would love to be able to report back on the successful implementation of the scheme.
Any help you can offer is very much appreciated.
Thank you.
Rob
