Dotty is taking me on a 5K Santa Run in Greenwich Park London on December 6th for the Mayhew Animal Home!!
The Mayhew Animal Home is based in Kensall Green in London, it rescues animals from cruelty and neglect each year. They provide shelter and care for cats, dogs, rabbits and any other poor animal that find themselves injured or abandoned.
They also offer advice, care and assistance to animals and their carers whatever their circumstances and strive to tackle animal welfare crisis from every possible angle.
They are funded entirely by the generosity from people who care about the welfare of animals, the average cost of keeping The Mayhew operational is £3,400 per day.
There is an increase in rescues over the festive period due to pets being given as presents and the receiver not being able to cope with the needs of these animals.

I will be running in my santa costume with Dotty, she is a 2 year old Staffordshire Bull Terrier who had been passed around a number of homes until she found her forever home. Dotty only has one eye due to her mum rolling on her when she was born, this made finding her a new home even harder. Having Dotty has opened my eyes to the large number of Stafforshire Bull Terriers that are abandoned. The Mayhew rescue and re-home a large number of Staffs.
