Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

At the tender age of 37 I have decided to have a pop at the London Marathon with my good friend Michael Hardman. The clincher for me was being introduced to the Charity who have kindly given me this very special opportunity.

The Calvert Trust enables people with disabilities, together with their families and friends, to achieve their potential through the challenge of outdoor adventure in the countryside.

Founded in 1978, Calvert Trust is the inspiration of John Fryer-Speddng, whose vision was to enable people with disabilities to benefit from outdoor activities in the countryside.

Despite Harold McMillan claiming that “the National Parks are for all people for all time” in 1951 when the first Park was opened, John Fryer-Spedding realised this was not quite true and that a lack of accessible facilities restricted people with disabilities from truly enjoying our beautiful countryside and benefiting from outdoor activity.

So, please give generously and if anything you can laugh at a blad Mancunian trying to drag himself 26 miles around the street of London.

Thanks in advance for your kind generosity. Matt x
