Fundraising for Asha for Education
Thanks for taking the time to visit my justgiving page.
On Sunday 10 October, I will be getting up at the crack of dawn on what is very likely to be yet another windy, rainy autumn day in London, and pushing through 21.1 km in the Royal Parks Half Marathon. As part of my efforts, I am raising funds for a charity called Asha for Education (http://www.ashanet.org/london/about.html), in particular a project called All Bengal Women. The All Bengal Women's Union maintains a Welfare Home and Primary School for under-privileged children in Calcutta. The union provides clothes, food, counseling and education to the children and encourages them to become self-reliant socially-responsible citizens. The direct beneficiaries of the project are 30 girls who come from very poor socio-economic backgrounds. Some are orphans, some have been abandoned and some are children of prostitutes; most children are seriously malnourished. You can learn more about the project here.Donating through justgiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to Asha for Education and make sure gift aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So please dig deep and donate now. Thanks very much for your support!Shweta* Charities pay a small fee for our service. Find out how much it is and what we do for it.
