Roy and I needed a big challenge and the Great Glen Paddle seemed to fit the bill - 57 miles of paddling on canals, lochs and rivers from Fort William to Inverness.  We entered the event, and then realised just how hard it was going to be...

We have to deal with different boats and paddles, improve our technique, fit in big volumes of training, arrange support logistics and then, finally, the easy bit, 12 hours of non stop paddling across Scotland.
