My story

Greetings! The somewhat last minute nature of this sponsorship request matches the last minute nature of our training regimes. As with previous challenges attempted, we shall again be relying on Frusli bars to make up for this.

At 3am on 13/08/2011 Simon Bowler, Oliver Daffarn, David Morcher, Ian Rankin and Andrew Marshall will wander off in blissful ignorance into the Welsh darkness in search of every mountain the country has to offer.  The "Welsh 3000's" involves reaching the summit of the 15 mountains in Wales which stand over 3000 ft tall via 24 hours of non-stop trekking (and navigating).  To emphasize our ignorance we hope to complete it within 12 hours just because someone on a website has said this would be exceptional (see www.welsh3000s.co.uk for further info).  Unfortunately due to complete uncertainty amongst all of us over how possible this is we can not offer any refunds.

We are doing this in aid of two charities. On this page donations will be made to The Tom Ap Rhys Pryce Memorial Trust. Tom ap Rhys Pryce was robbed and killed on 12 January 2006 as he walked home from Kensal Green underground station. In his memory the Trust supports projects falling under two main categories. To help provide educational and vocational training opportunities to individuals who might not otherwise have access to them and to help tackle the root causes of violent gang culture and street crime. Further information on the Trust can be found at http://www.tomaprhyspryce.com/.

Details of both charities being supported can be found on our team page at: http://www.justgiving.com/teams/5men-vs-15mountains/

We'd like to take the opportunity now to say thanks for your donations, they are greatly appreciated and will hopefully help power us up peak 15!
