Story
It’s an own goal
Hi my name’s Simon and thanks for visiting my page.
In order to raise funds for Newcastle United Foundation, I have signed up to do a zip wire from the top of St James’ Park down onto the pitch on Saturday, 20 April.
Now you may not think this is anything out of the ordinary, however my challenge has an additional goal …
In order to be eligible to slide down the wire all participants must be a maximum of 17st.
I weighed myself on 1 January 2013 and to my surprise was 19st 1lb.
As an avid Newcastle United Football Club supporter, the thoughts of landing on the pitch is a real treat (despite my fear of heights!) and has spurred me to get fit and healthy.
Through healthy eating and exercise I am now only 8lbs off my goal weight with six weeks to go!
So come on, dig deep and help me whip down that zip!
