My story

SKAITI - 24hrs OF SKATING FOR HAITI!

Why Skaiti? -

My son Jack is 13.  He saw the effects of the Haiti earthquake on TV, and he wanted to do something, so he came up with a great idea.  We like to skate, and we like to skate a lot... so why not skate for   Brilliant!  The plan was simple: we would skate a lot..  as far as we could go in 24 hours, to raise as much money as possible to help

The cost of each box is £490 including delivery to those who need it.  Jack and I hoped to raise enough money between the two of us to send one box.  But with the help of other skaters, how many will we be able to send?  To send four boxes, we need to raise £1960.  Please help as much as you can.

Please note that due to the nature of ShelterBox’s disaster relief work, the charity never knows where and when there will next be a need for their lifesaving equipment. To respond to a disaster as quickly possible, they need to have complete flexibility with their funds and equipment and can therefore never accept location or time specific donations. They can however guarantee that the donations they receive will provide shelter, warmth and dignity to people around the world who have been displaced by disaster.

To the skaters -

Please get all of your friends and family to sponsor you... check down the back of the sofa, nag your neighbours, hassle your boss/teacher/workmates and ask everyone for support.

If you are putting in sponsorship money that you've collected yourself, or making your own donation, PLEASE put your name in the comments box when you submit the money, here on the JustGiving site.

To our supporters and donors -

If you are donating to the cause, THANK YOU.  All money will go directly from JustGiving to Shelterbox to help the people of .  If you are donating to sponsor a 24 hour skater, THANK YOU!  Please give as much money as you can.

PLEASE - if you are sponsoring a rider please make sure you put their full name in the comments box so we can see who are our top fundraisers.  We’re planning a special prize draw for everyone who raises £50 or more via JustGiving.

If you'd like to get in touch, the e-mail address is skaiti24@yahoo.co.uk, and we'll reply asap.

Many thanks

Jo and Jack
