We have managed to get ourselves a great team. Yunus – in charge of general planning, fixing and navigation, Rachel – in charge of general falling over and loud noises, Mona – in charge of glamour and attempted over-spending and Joni – in charge of not a lot, and have decided we are going to take part in this year’s Sucata Run.
The Sucata Run is a whacky banger rally in which we’ll be touring from West Lothian, to the most Westerly point in Europe, ’s Cabo Da Roca in a P reg Vauxhall Astra bought for £200 and donated to us by a very generous Uncle, taking a coastal route through and . The Rally is taking place over the August bank holiday from 26 – 30 August, a journey of 2700 kilometers in a car worth less that a decent television!
Each team is aiming to raise at least £1000, and each £1000 will be split between educating the pupils of five schools in the prevention of HIV/AIDs and malaria, so the more money we manage to raise, the more lives we will be able to have a positive impact on around the world.
In order to raise funds for the charity we have already held numerous bonus ball contests in work, and our family and friends have filled loads of sponsor sheets in order to help us on our way. We also recently held a massive charity gig, showcasing the talents of many local musicians that was a huge success for us, and a fantastic night overall.
