Hello people!!!!
I am raising money for C.A.L.M. (the Campaign Against Living Miserably) - they're a small and wonderful charity that reaches out in innovative ways to young men struggling with depression and other life crises. We've been raising money for this charity following Karl's death last year - we hope they can use the money to keep other young men safe. Check out their website: http://www.thecalmzone.net/
SO! I am participating in the Adidas Women's 5k Challenge on 6 September - I won't be running of course, but I promise you all I'll cross the finish line.
Also, I am trying to show Joe that he's not the only one with $$$ pulling power, so help me out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
And for the Aussies - and Italian (Simone) and American (Kristin) - among you, don't think that being outside of the jurisdiction lets you off the hook!! I've been in touch with the folks at JustGiving and here is what they had to say:
Can people donate to my fundraising page from overseas? Yes, people can donate to your JustGiving page from anywhere in the world, as long as they have a credit/debit card. Donations
can only be made in pounds sterling (£ GBP), so your friends need to
work out how much they want to donate in pounds, and we will debit
their card with the equivalent amount in their local currency. Here's
one of the many currency conversion websites that can help: http://www.xe.com/ucc Local
banks/credit card companies may charge extra fees for international
transactions. If in doubt, your overseas friends should check with them
before donating. In case that last bit is putting you off, at least take comfort from the fact that the British pound is sliding in value... Finally for the unemployed, the burgeoning numbers at home looking after kids and those working in the arts, a token donation of £2 is more than acceptable... Thanks very much, Sonya xxxx PS I've lost my phone again so please can you drop me an email with your phone numbers!
